How are Honors courses different from regular courses? |
Honors courses are generally smaller than regular courses, are most often taught by faculty, and are reserved for Honors students. You can expect personal attention, active discussions, in-depth analysis of the subject matter, and the opportunity to refine your oral and written communication skills. You will learn from your peers as well as from frequent interaction with your professor.
Some foundations courses, such as English Composition and math courses, are not taught by faculty members but rather by well-regarded teachers with graduate-level credentials. Similarly, some labs or discussion groups may be led by instructors or graduate students who work collaboratively with the faculty member who teaches the lecture section of the course. Some departments or colleges, such as the Eller College of Business and Public Administration, that use Adjunct Instructors, may select outstanding teachers from this group for Honors sections.
