Dennis Kim-Prieto, J.D., M.S.L.I.S., M.F.A.

I am currently a Reference Librarian at the Rutgers School of Law in Newark, NJ, where, in addition to teaching law students how to research international and foreign law, I also research standards for bilingual legal dictionaries, as well as examine the application of research skills assessments to law student populations. After graduating from the University of Arizona in 1991, I attended the Iowa Writer's Workshop, graduating in 1994. I returned to the University of Iowa to take my J.D. in 2001. Apparently I had not yet had my fill of higher education, as I took my Master of Science in Library & Information Science from the University of Illinois in 2005. Shortly thereafter, I landed here at Rutgers, but if Jon Anderson hadn't nominated me for the Honors College so many years ago, who knows where I might have ended up?!

I'm glad to know that the Honors College back at the University of Arizona is still going strong. Any current students (or alums) who'd like to know more about the fascinating world of academic law librarianship (yes! I'm serious!!) are more than welcome to contact me on dprieto@kinoy.rutgers.edu
