Sharon Gaston Cagalj

I graduated in 1959 in elementary education, got married to an Arizona native and started my first teaching job. I taught second and fourth grades for six years. In the meantime I had two children, a girl and a boy. About this time TUSD was starting libraries in elementary school and I had some library courses so I left the classroom and took on four elementary libraries. I gradually got down to one library full time and remained in that position for twenty two years. The library was a wonderful place to spend my career. I decided to retire early and go to travel school. I worked as an outside agent for ten years and traveled extensively and loved it! Now I volunteer with The Assistance League of Tucson, attend meetings of my P.E.O. chapter, play lots of bridge and work on the house corporation of my sorority. My life is very full and I have the best deal going - I spend my winters in Tucson and my summers at our home in Pinetop.
