Terry Seligman

I was an early Honors graduate (Class of 1967.) I completed a double major in French and Spanish, with Honors in French. I have continued to study languages since then, adding Italian and now Hebrew.

After a long career in IBM computer sales and leasing I was ready for a change, so I formed a tour company, TerryTours Art and Travel, that specialized in custom art and architecture tours in North American and Western Europe for museum groups. This allowed me to follow my passions for languages, travel and art. (I was a docent at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art for 18 years, until this past January.)

After 10 years, I no longer organize tours; but TerryTours "morphed" into an insurance agency that specializes in Travel Insurance of all kinds, representing virtually all of the more than two dozen travel insurance providers in the industry. We serve individuals, families, groups, corporations, nonprofits and students going abroad to study. We insure flights, tours, cruises, safaris, villa rentals, adventure travel, humanitarian missions, foreign nationals visiting the U.S., foreign nationals visiting other non-U.S. countries, and just about any other type of travel you can name. In my spare time (what spare time?) I'm on the leadership committee of a grassroots organization that is working to end the genocide in Darfur, Sudan. As you can imagine, this is a big job....no single organization can do it alone. But we are hopeful that by working together with our legislators, envoys and the U.N. we can help bring peace and safety to the Darfuri people.
