Major(s): English
Hometown: Lake Havasu City, AZ
Other Campus Involvements: I am currently involved in Bluechip and have been involved in the Honors First Year Study Abroad Trip to Paris and Berlin and a literary journal internship through one of my honors professors. I will soon be involved in another study abroad trip to England and the Honors English Thesis program (separate from the Honors Thesis and regular College Thesis).
I Joined FHA Because... I joined FHA not only to boost my involvement on campus, but to also help students, like myself, who may be a little introverted, to step out of their comfort zone and to explore all the possibilities and opportunities of being an W.A. Franke Honors student.
My Favorite Honors Course was... My favorite honors course is kind of a cheat, since it would have to be the courses I took over the summer in Paris and Berlin. I received 6 honors credits and all that was required of me was to create two travel websites with content of my choosing, pertaining to my experience overseas. The website I created focused on the haunted spots within Paris and Berlin that you can visit and the historical evidence for them being now dilapidated and quite possible haunted. For example, the catacombs, several cathedrals, and many famous cemeteries that held people such as Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison. This course offered me tours throughout both cities and offered me new insights to cultures I knew very little of before my trip.
Favorite Spot on Campus: My favorite spot on campus is the top of the Student Union, which offers many tables and benches to kickback and knock out some homework, while watching the people below on the mall. Great spot for some quiet study time and an even better spot for people watching.
Fun Fact: A fun fact about myself is that although I may appear a bit Goth and listen to a lot of heavy music I was actually the MVP for my golf team in high school for four years and attended State for golf two years in a row.
